Burnett Highway Fauna Management 2014 Transport and Main Roads

Over May, June and July, the Snake Out team was up at Goomeri, QLD, working on a clearing zone expansion along the Burnett Highway, clearing trees and vegetation to 9 meters either side of the highway for safety and access purposes. Working with Global Tree Works for the Department of Transport and Main Roads, we inspected habitat sites prior to clearance, followed up by fauna spotting during clearing works, often in areas with high habitat potential for threatened species such as the Little Pied Bat, Yellow Naped Snake, and Koalas to name a few. Here’s some of the amazing wildlife we came across during this project!
